York College will celebrate a major milestone in the 2014-2015 academic year—125 years since its founding in 1890.
As part of that celebration, three faculty members are working on a book that looks at the rich history of the school. They are currently compiling materials for this work and plan to publish in time for first prints to be available at Homecoming in October 2014.
Associate Professor of History Tim McNeese, a noted author and historian, is the lead researcher on the project. Working with him are Assistant Professor of English Beverly McNeese and Assistant Professor of History Christi Lones.
The researchers have acquired many bits of memorabilia, photographs, and college annuals from local sources as well as the college archives, but they are still in search of more material to include in the work. Tim McNeese says they are especially in need of quality photos from the 20s, 30s, and 40s.
If you have any such materials that you would like to donate to the college, or if you would like them scanned and returned to you, please contact McNeese as soon as possible. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 402-363-5683.
