Dr. Adrienne Dickson, adjunct instructor of voice, was recently chosen to be the Mezzo Soprano soloist for University of Nebraska Lincoln chorus/orchestra presentation of Verdi's Requiem.
“Dr. Dickson is very well-known and respected around the state both as a performer and a teacher. York College is most fortunate to have her on faculty,” says Dr. Clark Roush, professor of music and Endowed Chair for the Performing Arts
In 2011, Dickson was the featured Mezzo Soprano soloist for the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert at the Lied Center and an Alto soloist with Abendchor, Lincoln’s Professional Chamber Choir in their production of Handel’s Messiah.
A Lincoln-native, Dickson holds a DMA in vocal performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She received her BFA in music theatre from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her MM in opera performance from The Boston Conservatory.
At York College, she teaches private voice lessons, vocal production, and diction.
"Our voice students are abundantly fortunate to have a voice professor that not only is an incredible teacher, but is also in demand as a performer,” Roush says. “The modeling, mentoring, and teaching she provides is vital to success of our performing ensembles, and the future professional lives of our music majors."
Dickson is a featured soloist on the first two songs in this concert from 2012.
