Admissions Tools & Resources
York College offers scholarships recognizing talent, achievement, and character. Awards are made on a first come, first served basis until all available scholarship funds have been distributed. Students financial need, as determined by the FAFSA, is also considered in awarding some scholarships. For a student to be eligible for any York College Scholarship or Grant, the student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The scholarship priority deadline is June 1. After June 1, scholarships may be awarded by need. Each applicant is first considered for all grants and scholarships awarded, remaining need may be met with loans and/or campus employment as eligibility permits.
Students receiving institutional scholarships and grants are expected to represent York College in a positive and respectful manner. Students experiencing discipline problems or facing disciplinary action may lose their scholarships. In addition, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is required to keep all scholarships. For renewable scholarships, a student not maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress may apply for reinstatement of the scholarship after one year without the scholarship provided the student fulfilled SAP the previous year. To ensure eligibility of renewable scholarships students must also complete the FAFSA by the determined priority date.
