Admission for Online Students

The focus of the online program is degree completion assistance for non-traditional students desiring to complete a four-year Baccalaureate (B.A.) degree. Potential students must have previously completed 40-60 credit hours of transferable coursework from an accredited college.  For exceptions please contact your admissions counselor Nick Jones.

The minimum age requirement for admittance to the degree completion program is 25.

Admissions Process for Degree Seeking Students:

  • B.A. General Studies
  • B.A. Business Administration
  • Certificate of Medical Coding

Step 2:  Submit transcripts scores-

In order to complete your file, York College will need to officially receive the following:

  • High School Transcripts with Official Graduation Date Posted
  • ACT/SAT scores (only if available).
  • Transcripts from ALL colleges attended.

Step 3:  Acceptance-
Once our Admissions Office has received all required paperwork you will be evaluated for acceptance.  Your Admissions Counselor will contact you via e-mail.  E-mail is the official mode of communication for York College Online studies.  (see below for acceptance policy)

Step 2:  Submit transcripts scores-

In order to complete your file, York College will need to officially receive the following:

  • Transcripts from your LAST college attended (official hard-copy).

Step 3:  Acceptance-

After the Admissions Office receives all required paperwork you will be notified of your acceptance*.  Your Admissions Counselor will contact you via e-mail.  E-mail is the official mode of communication for York College Online studies.

*Non-degree seeking students will automatically be accepted once ALL official paperwork is received.  The York College Acceptance Policy does not apply.

York College Acceptance Policy::

NOTE:  Official Transcripts must come from each college attended.

  • 27 credit hours or less:

             1. High School Transcripts----------------Minimum of a 2.0 GPA

             2. High School Transcripts----------------Minimum class rank of 50%

             3. ACT score (or SAT equivalent)--------Minimum score of 18

             4. Official College Transcript(s)----------Minimum of 1.6 GPA

(To be accepted unconditionally, must meet two of the first three requirements and meet requirement #4.)

  • 28-59 credit hours:

             1. High school Transcripts----------------Proof of Graduation

             2. Official College Transcript(s)--------- Minimum of 1.8 GPA

(To be accepted unconditionally, must meet both requirements .  High School transcript is evaluated if college GPA is below minimum requirements)

  • 60+ credit hours:

             1. High school Transcripts----------------Proof of Graduation

             2. Official College Transcript(s)--------- Minimum of 2.0 GPA

(To be accepted unconditionally, must meet both requirements.  High School transcript is evaluated if college GPA is below minimum requirements .)

Exceptions:

  • For those that take the GED, see the Home School Senior requirements.
  • A Non-traditional student will be required to submit his/her most recent transcripts(s).
  • For anyone interested in participating in athletics, he/she must be unconditionally accepted and must abide by the "24 Hour" rule, which indicates that within the last two full-time consecutive semesters attempted, 24 credit hours MUST be completed with a passing grade.  (If only one college semester has been attempted, students must have passed 9 credit hours).
