Conference Champs!

York College Track and Field Teams and Coach Win Big at MCAC Championship

To the victors belong the spoils, or in this case, the hardware. The York College men and women’s track and field teams returned home victorious Saturday after besting the competition at the MCAC Conference Championships, April 26-27 in Yukon, Okla.  Both teams won their respective conference titles with each winning eight event championships among the accolades.

"This is the proudest that I have ever been as a coach!" says Head Coach Justin Carver. "Everyone did exactly what I knew that they were capable of and this was the result. Our students showed passion and pride. On the night before our meet all of our athletes received a t-shirt with a quote on the back that says, 'Tradition starts today!' They made that come to life."

With four first place finishes, Julian Lamatsch was named Outstanding Male Athlete of the MCAC Conference. Carver was named both men’s and women’s Track Coach of the Year for the conference.
