No Debt, No Sweat!
by Andrea Rice — Panther Press
York College and East Hill Church of Christ are hosting a “No Debt, No Sweat Live Seminar”. The seminar will teach Christians how to get rid of their financial pain, but it will also show young people how to prevent spending their lives reacting to financial messes. All the information that will be shared has Biblical principles and putting God first in the way of managing money.
The presenter of this seminar is Steve Diggs. He has given hundreds of seminars nationwide. Steve is a minister for a church in Antioch, TN, and has accomplished many things in his life. He has taught college marketing and business, he is a board member of two universities, he is an author of many books and articles, a business owner, and entrepreneur, to note just a few.
The seminar will be held on Wednesday, November 18, and Thursday, November 19, at the East Hill Church of Christ. There will be two sessions each evening. On Wednesday, the first session will begin at 7:00pm with getting to know each other and sharing. Then a presentation of two Biblical principles that Steve believes are key to getting one’s financial life in order will follow. Also, being discussed will be the topics of "What Motivates Us To Borrow?" focusing on how financial bondage takes away from individuals spiritually, and "Freedom From Materialism".
During the second session, Steve will explain the "A, B, C's of Godly Money Management". The "A, B, C's are: "A"cknowledge Who Owns Your Money, "B"udget Your Money, and "C"ontrol Your Money.
Thursday evening the third session will also begin at 7:00 and will be about Debit and Credit Cards. In the fourth and final session, Steve will address how to save, invest, and get ready for retirement. Steve will also be addressing students and faculty at Chapel on Thursday.
YC Bible Professor Michael Case is helping arrange this seminar and says that anyone that has money should attend. This is a seminar for everyone, including church members, the campus community, and the public. Dr. Case and others have been busy trying to get the word out. So please come and learn how to manage your money in a safe and Christian way.
