Songfest "Raise it Up"

Theta Psi & Sig TauThe 32nd anniversary of Songfest celebrated its closing finale Saturday night during the High School Days weekend. At the completion of the show, clubs anxiously awaited with the audience to hear the judges' tally of their three-night production. Delta Chi Alpha and Kyodai's "Motown Forever" won the Best Costumes award while Theta Psi and Sigma Tau's "Let's Workout Tonight" won the awards for Best Choreography and Music and the overall President's Award for best club show.

The success of this year's show was attributed in large part to the talented voices of six hosts and hostesses: Kaylee Danielson, Erich Loper, Amasa Maine, Zach Rush, Ellie Sams, and David Young. Under the direction of Dr. Clark Roush, they have been perfecting their performance since the campus-wide auditions in December. Each student chose the music for their own solo, showcasing a wide array of styles and genre to accompany the tight harmonies of their group numbers.

More than a fourth of the York College student body participated in this year's Songfest production. Mark your calendars for next year's show, scheduled for April 8-10, 2010.
