Soul Quest '09Give Me Your Eyes
This scene was repeated all over the city of York Wednesday afternoon as clusters of teenagers painted fire hydrants, shelved books at Kilgore Library, provided yard work, scraped and painted houses, and the list goes on.
450 middle and high school students from fifteen states were on campus for the 28th annual Soul Quest camp. A tradition of providing community service one afternoon of the week was started several years ago and has become a great way to put the campers’ faith into practice.
This year’s SQ theme was Give Me Your Eyes, based on the lyrics of the powerful song by Christian recording artist Brandon Heath. Daily classes, chapel, and evening worship with keynote speaker, Patrick Mead, encouraged campers to consider the unlimited possibilities of God’s plan for them and the power of the good news of Jesus.
Next year's Soul Quest is scheduled for June 13-19, 2010.
