National Track/Field Championship Qualifiers

Danny CunninghamFreshmen track and field athletes Danny Cunningham of Liberty, Missouri, and Shaylee Carlock of Turney, Missouri, and junior Aaron Beadle of Anamosa, Iowa, have qualified for the NCCAA National Indoor Championships.

While competing at the Charlie Foster Invite hosted by the University of Nebraska Kearney, Cunningham ran a 7.41 in the 60 meter dash early in the semester. The time qualifies him for the 55 meter dash at Nationals.  “Danny Cunningham is an amazing young man who attacks life with discipline,” said Justin Carver, assistant track and field coach.  “When it comes to hard work, Danny knows how to get the job done. He brings humor, heart, and discipline with him everywhere he goes.”

Shaylee CarlockThe first weekend of February, Carlock threw a personal best of 11 meters (36 feet, 1 inch) in the shot put at the Mule Indoor Invite at University of Central Missouri. "We're very proud to have Shaylee competing for us here at YC," said head coach Derek Kite. "She's got a great attitude with incredible work ethic."

The following weekend at the Concordia Invite in Seward, Nebraska, Aaron Beadle joined the national qualifiers with his throw of 12.68m (41-07.25) in the shot put. Congratulations to these athletes who will journey to the NCCAA National Indoor Championships February 20 in Cedarville, Ohio.
