YC Welcomes New Faculty
Amy Fraser will join York College as Assistant Professor of Music. Fraser is a 2001 graduate of York College and will teach several music classes as well as direct Celebration Singers, Cocoa and Carols, and Songfest. “I look forward to being a part of giving students the same experience that I loved,” said Fraser. She and her husband, Jansen have lived in York for the past 11 years and they have three sons, Ross, Evan and Boe. Most recently Fraser taught K-12 Vocal Music at Fillmore Central.
Dr. Tracey Wyatt will join the faculty as Associate Professor of Psychology. Originally from San Diego, California, Wyatt received degrees from Freed Hardeman University, Harding Graduate School and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. “I’m excited to bring my years of experience in the human service field to students and to be a part of Christian education,” said Wyatt. He and his wife Marla have three children, Jesse, Lauren and Cody.
Dr. Jason FitzSimmons will also join the faculty as Director of the Success Center and will be working with students at risk. Prior to coming to York College, FitzSimmons completed a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. “I am excited about developing policies, strategies and mindsets for the continued success of student learning and faculty teaching at York College,” said FitzSimmons. He continued, “My desire for this year is to establish and lay a good foundation for the new Success Center.” FitzSimmons and his wife Anna have one son, Torin.
