2010 Challenge UpdateMulti-year $1.5 million gift to YC concludes Dec 31
As the 2010 Challenge draws to an end, President Steve Eckman commented, “This challenge has energized our friends and alumni for four years. It is one of the most important gifts in the history of the college and came at a time when gift dollars were hard to find. While it is hard to measure the exact impact for our students, I can tell you that we have been able to take some risks that have strengthened York College and have blessed lots of lives. I am so grateful to our anonymous benefactor who made the challenge and equally grateful to everyone who have made it possible to match, and exceed, our goal during the first three years of the challenge.”
* An anonymous donor will match every new gift, dollar for dollar, up to $250,000.
* If you did not give in 2009, the entire amount of your gift or gifts throughout 2010 will be matched.
* If you gave in 2009, the amount of increase in your gift or gifts will be matched. If you gave $50 in 2009 and you give $75 in 2010, the challenge will match $25 of your gift.
* If you or your spouse works for a matching gift company, the matching gift may also count toward the challenge.* Need more information? Call the York College Advancement Office at 402-363-5664.
