2010 Challenge

Year four of a multi-year challenge has been launched. The fourth part of the challenge began on January 1 with an offer of $250,000 if the college can secure an equal amount in "new" gifts during 2010.

President Steve Eckman commented, “From its beginning, this challenge has proven to be one of the most important financial events in our history. It has provided an intense level of motivation for those who care about York College. Thanks to our anonymous benefactor and our many alumni and friends, we have confidence year number four will find the same success as the first three campaigns.”

The college has already received $1.25 million during the first three years of this anonymous challenge. If the 2010 Challenge is successful, York College will receive a total of $1.5 million over a four-year period.

The 2010 Challenge will conclude December 31, 2010. All “new” gifts received will be matched up to $250,000. How will the 2010 Challenge work?

    * An anonymous donor will match every new gift, dollar for dollar, up to $250,000!

    * If you did not give in 2009, the entire amount of your gift or gifts throughout 2010 will be matched.

    * If you gave in 2009, the amount of increase in your gift or gifts will be matched.

    * If you or your spouse works for a matching gift company, the matching gift may also count toward the challenge.
