YC Faculty to Present at National Conferences

 

Ms. Summer Dickinson, Instructor of English was recently accepted to present her literary analysis paper at the 2011 International Cather Seminar in Northampton, Massachusetts. The Willa Cather Foundation, along with Smith College in MA, will host the International Seminar, in its 13th year, this June.  Smith College is a member of a consortium, which includes Amherst College, Hampshire College, and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.  The paper she will present is from a short story, “Paul’s Case”.

Education Professors Dr. Kathleen Wheeler and Dr. Al Arth were accepted to present at The Association for Supervisior and Curriculum Development. Founded in 1943, ASCD is the largest group of teachers in the nation with 160,000 members in 148 countries. This year’s conference is being held in San Francisco, California and focuses on “Bold Actions for Complex Challenges.” Wheeler and Arth will present “Ways to Have Middle Grades Students Keep on Task and Enjoy Learning.”
