Humphreys named 2nd Milers

Drs. Joe and Jackie Humphrey
Drs. Joe and Jackie Humphrey are serving from their heart, and service like that gets noticed. Retirement didn't quite take for this couple when they packed their belongings two years ago in Austin, Texas, and moved to York. For the last two years, they've poured their hearts into serving the mission of their alma mater. And they've done it basically free of charge. It's called going the extra mile, and there's an award for that. President Steve Eckman made the announcement in the final week of chapel that the Humphrey's were the recipients of the 2nd Miler Award.

The volunteer couple has been well received by the YC family and will leave a large hole as they complete their two-year commitment. Joe has been teaching accounting classes and serves as the director of the college's Title III program. Jackie, who serves as director for York College Online, has been working on the development of online curriculum as well as teaching classes herself.
