Selection criteria included a combination of various factors including authorship of significant and influential publications and presentations, a minimum of 25 years of active involvement in middle level education, substantial service, peer recognition, and a public record of advocacy for young adolescents” (page xvi, Legacy of Middle School Leaders: In Their Own Words).

Arth is currently a Professor of Education at York College, coordinating the Middle School endorsement program.
