Cathy Pearson Called HomeProfessor’s wife loses battle to cancer
Mark and Cathy moved to York in 2006 from Cap Haitian, Haiti where they had spent six years serving as medical missionaries. Unable to return to Haiti because of health reasons, they found a new home and mission in York. In 2007, Cathy started working as a para-educator at York High School. In May 2010, Cathy learned she had cancer in her sinus cavities. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, but the cancer later returned and spread rapidly. Cathy was able to see the birth of her third grandchild in May and celebrate with Mark their 35th anniversary on June 19. She is survived by Mark, three children, Daniel, Erin, and Kathleen, and three grandchildren. Please keep the Pearson family in your prayers as they deal with the loss of a wonderful Godly woman. Cathy's funeral will be on Tuesday, August 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the East Hill Church of Christ in York (12th & Delaware). Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in York. A luncheon in East Hill's fellowship hall will follow the burial. |
