On the Road Again
Traveling Children's Theatre Celebrates 15 Years
The York College Traveling Children’s Theatre celebrates its 15th season this spring with their production of The Wizard of Oz. The drama troupe, under the direction of John I. Baker III, is chosen by audition each fall and begins rehearsals in the spring semester. The 12-member cast surrenders their Tuesday and Thursday mornings to practices and performances.
Beginning the first of March, they will pack up twice a week and perform at various elementary schools in Nebraska and for special events, such as High School Days. With over twenty performances in the semester, the students in this theatre company interact with thousands of elementary kids, bringing each show to life with a personal touch.

“The cast grows so much through the experience of repeated performances and serving as cast and crew," said Baker. "Seeing the magic come to life is what acting, directing, set construction and watching are all about.”
Besides a performance during Spring High School Days, an opportunity for audiences to see this year's show on campus is Friday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. The performance is in Gurganus Hall (10th & Kiplinger) and is free admission. Click here for more information on the show.
