Volleyball Coach Hired

Jenny Anderson Named Panther Head Coach

The athletic department announced on Friday the hire of new head volleyball coach, Jenny Anderson of Forney, Texas.  Coach Anderson is currently a high school and club volleyball coach at North Forney High School.

York College athletic director Jared Stark was quickly on the recruiting trail when Coach Meredith Fear made the decision last month to return to her alma mater, Harding University, for the head coaching position.

Along with nearly a decade of coaching experience, Anderson enjoyed a stellar collegiate career playing one year at Harding University before transferring to the University of Central Oklahoma. As a libero, she set records in career digs and single season digs for the Broncos’ volleyball program. At UCO she was named All-Conference in ’04-’05 as well as being named Lone Star Conference Libero of the Year in 2005 and named All-Region HM.

In her high school career, Anderson played for the 4A State Champions, Edmond Memorial HS.  In 2007, she returned to the school to be the head assistant coach for three seasons. The Bulldogs won the 6A State Championship two of those three years.

“Aside from having been an excellent player and coach I am most excited about the woman of faith Jenny Anderson is,” said Stark.  “Jenny and her husband have been involved in their church teaching bible classes for both youth and married couples.  I have no doubt that God led us to a person who has a passionate and sincere faith who will impact our team spiritually and athletically.”

Jenny and her husband Ross plan to move to York in March. They have two young boys, Jackson (2 1/2)  and Sam (8 mo.).
