Divas and Legends of Pop

Celebration Singers to Explore Rock and Pop Over the Decades

The York College Celebration Singers will present their spring concert repertoire April 29- May 1. Their program is entitled “Divas and Legends of Pop” and will explore rock and pop music from Elvis Presley to Brittany Spears.

The general admission tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.

Director Amy Fraser, assistant professor of music, says the concert will be fun for all ages, as the group will present music from several eras. In solos, duets, and group numbers, the celebration singers will cover songs made popular by the likes of Bon Jovi, CCR, Village People, Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson and Madonna, as well as boy bands and others.

With fun costumes and set, this high-energy show is much more than your standard “show choir” fare.

The show will be performed Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1, at 7:30 p.m., in Gurganus Hall on 10th and Kiplinger.
