York Rises in the Polls

Panthers improve to No. 19 after going 2-0 last week


The men’s basketball team moved up 3 spots in the Coaches’ Top 25 Poll after going 2-0 last week. With a big conference win against Bellevue University (90-82) on Tuesday and a double digit victory over Waldorf College (96-82) on Friday's senior night, the Panthers lead the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference with an 8-1 record, 18-4 on the season. This week they garnered 139 points and are ranked No. 19 in the NAIA Div. II poll.

According to Dakstats, York College appears in seven top 10 NAIA Div. II team rankings including No. 2 in free throw percentage (0.740), and No. 4 in scoring offense per game (88.545).

York will be on the road this weekend as they take on conference opponents Southwestern Christian Friday night, Feb. 1, and Oklahoma Wesleyan, who currently sits at No. 2 in the MCAC, on Saturday. Their final regular season home game will be Tuesday, Feb. 5, against Central Christian. Head coach Delton Deal, his staff, and the team would love to see a packed Freeman Center as they hope to avenge their one conference loss of the season.
