Thank you for entrusting your child with us during Soul Quest ‘12. We pledge to do everything we can to make their experience a time of personal and spiritual growth, with a whole lot of fun mixed in. We will provide them with a safe environment and surround them with a camp staff that cares about them as a child of God. Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions or concerns that might arise. We will do everything we can to assist.
Here is what you can do to assist us before your child comes to camp:
1.Send your child's registration, medical release form, a copy of the front and back of your insurance card, and camp fee in early. We are offering an “Early Bird Rate” of $160.00 for all registrations postmarked before June 1st. If your child is coming with a youth group, make sure your group leader gets all your forms and full payment well before the June 1st deadline. SQ is a camp for High School (classes of 2011-2014) and Middle School (classes of 2015-2017).
2. Review the camp rules with your camper. We discourage all electronic devices because they can become a distraction. Cell phones are a problem because campers use them to call or text message at inappropriate hours. Please discuss with your child the proper use of such equipment. We reserve the right to ban, or limit, the use of cell phones during camp. Please support our camp guidelines.
3. Please note that all campers are responsible for any damage to their dorm room, or other YC property, as a result of careless behavior. Towel racks and window screens are items that are particularly sensitive. We will call if we have any problems.
4. If your child needs assistance with prescription medication, it must be checked-in at the camp nurse's table upon arrival to camp. Medications will be dispensed per parent's clear written instructions. Medication must be in original containers and have clear instructions for administering. Also, our volunteer nurse staff will administer minor first aid when necessary. In the event a student is ill for an extended period of time or needs further medical attention, parents will be notified by the camp nurse's office, a sponsor or your Youth Minister.
5. Soul Quest can only provide 3 mattresses per room. If your child is in a room with 3 or 4 people, please make arrangements for a camper to bring an air mattress or something similar. Your group sponsor will make all the rooming arrangements. Please check with them to see if your child should bring a mattress.
