The York College Celebration Singers will perform their annual Cocoa and Carols program December 12 through 15. The theme of this year's show is "The Best Time of the Year: Music and Memories of Christmas."
This family-friendly production will feature secular and sacred Christmas music, with choreography and skits.
Performances of the high energy show will be held in Gurganus Hall on the York College campus. Admission is $5 and includes cocoa and cookies.
Performances on December 12, 13 and 14 will be at 7:30 p.m. with the house opening at 7:00. On Sunday, December 15, the performance will be at 2 p.m. and the house will open at 1:30.
Program director Amy Fraser, assistant professor of music, encourages would-be attendees to reserve a ticket early, as the seating is limited. There are only 100 seats available per performance. Fraser notes that all performances usually sell-out.
The show will feature 18 talented students, performing a variety of solo and ensemble numbers, including beloved Christmas favorites. Cast members include Brianna Bailey, Caroline Seilstad, Ali Linstad, Kailey Firm, Soren Tobey, Jasmine Agee, Sammi Dixon, Rebecca Agler, Laurel Simpson, Ryne Smith, Cameron Holmes, Matthew Gardner, Matthew Miller, Nolan Henningson, Parker Seilstad, Caleb Smith, Kyle Svehla, and Drew Leonard.
Fraser says that the show will incorporate a wide variety of musical styles, from hymns to pop numbers and is sure to please audience members of all stripes.
