NAIA National Pitcher of the Week, Aaron Conyers, knew it was his time to shine again as the York College Panthers took on No.3 seed Judson College in Game 5 of the NAIA Championship Opening Round. The Eagles had the No. 2 ranked offense in the NAIA in runs scored (462). . With seven complete games under his belt this season, the junior from Cameron Park, Calif., went the distance once again, striking out 5 and holding the Eagles to 6 hits and no walks in the 5-0 victory. Conyers has not allowed an earned run in 42 innings dating back to April 5th. Only two runs have been scored on Conyers since that date, both unearned.

The Panthers will play the winner of Game 7 (Judson vs Cumberland Univ. or Maysville State) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday for the Opening Round Championship. A loss will mean a rematch on Sunday, May 12. A victory on either scenario will send York to the 57th annual Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, May 24 – 31.
