High school actors from around the area converged at York University’s Bartholomew Performing Arts Center on Monday, November 18, to participate in the eighth annual High School One-Act Play Festival.

These high school students perform their one-act plays at competitions around the state throughout November. The festival at York University gave them an opportunity to perform their shows in front of more seasoned actors, who provided feedback for improvement.

“The one-act festival is a great opportunity to teach both high school and university students about theatre,” said Associate Professor of Communication and Theatre John I. Baker III. “The festival allows the York University theatre department to teach our students about running a festival while allowing area high school students the opportunity to perform.”
