York University is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2024 York University Alumni Awards.
This year’s recipients include:
- Alumni of the Year: Rod Genrich (1971)
- Young Alumni of the Year: Grant (2003) and Amanda (DeBerry) Rathe (2002)
- Servant Leader Award: Marquisette Bickford (1984)
- Legacy Award: Kinney-Leinen family
This annual awards program honors graduates who have distinguished themselves with exemplary contributions in their careers, as well as their remarkable impact on YU and the world through outstanding professional, philanthropic and volunteer service to society. The awards represent the highest form of university recognition bestowed exclusively on alumni of exceptional distinction and achievement.
According to Jared Stark, YU interim president, vice president for advancement, these award recipients have demonstrated outstanding dedication to York University and have displayed a legacy of service and faith in their careers, personal accomplishments and generosity to their alma mater.
“This year’s honorees are shining examples of the mission and core values of our university,” said Stark. “They have embodied a lifetime of growth and transformed lives, intellectually, physically and spiritually, with collective contributions that have greatly served our campus and our world.”
Recipients will be honored during Homecoming Chapel on Saturday, Oct 19, 2024, 9:00 a.m. at the East Hill Church of Christ adjacent to the York University campus.
