Tim Lewis teaches core classes in the Business Administration curriculum and is the
lead professor in the Sports Management Degree track at York University's E.A. Levitt
School of Business.
If you are in his classes you will be learning about topics like Macro and Micro Economics,
Financial Management, Business Communications, Introduction to Business or Marketing.
If you are studying Sports Management, together with Mr. Lewis you will learn about
Sports Law, Sports Sociology, Sports Venue and Event Management, Sports Marketing
and Sports Media and Public Relations.
Before entering the classroom, Tim served as the Director of Campus Ministries at
York University. For 10 years he created programs and events where students could
find and develop their faith and their ministry. Those years helped him be a better
teacher and a stronger role model for his students in and out of the classroom.
In addition to academics, he has been a part of the York University Athletics Program
over the past 20 years. He served as the Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach from 2004-07.
During that time his teams won two MCAC Conference championships and he received back-to-back
Coach of the Year awards. From 2014 to 2020, he served as the Faculty Athletic Representative
for our Athletic Department. In that role it was his responsibility to verify each
athlete's academic eligibility and also monitor the academic progress of each of York's
sports teams.
In the past few years, he has been closely involved with several organizations as
a full-time volunteer. Along with a few other professors, he has had the opportunity
to teach courses for York University's Second Chance Program at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women. He also works extensively with the
Nebraska organ and tissue donation organization, Live On Nebraska. Working with them,
he regularly speaks to groups of all sizes and ages about the importance of organ
and tissue donation.
His favorite Bible verse is Phillipians 4:14 and his favorite Bible character is David.
