Tree Burks, director of Student Success and Career Support, was excited about the opportunities and experience this fair brought for students. “I appreciated seeing students take initiative, ask good questions, and begin mapping out their next steps,” Burks said. “I’m thankful for the employers who showed up and the York community’s support in giving our students access to these opportunities.”
This fair is one in a long list of events that Burks has organized this semester to help students prepare for their lives after graduation. “I've learned that one of the most challenging and most rewarding parts of working with students is helping them understand a simple truth: You Can't Cram For Your Career,” Burks said.
“Career readiness and growth is built through consistent decisions, small steps, networking experiences, and a willingness to explore the gifts God has already placed inside each of us. My job is to help students uncover those talents, connect them to opportunities, and build the confidence to go out and serve in meaningful ways.”
