York University Children's Theatre invites the York community to a free performance of The Commedia Puss in Boots this Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m. The performance will be held in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. No tickets or reservations necessary.
This familiar tale is brought to life with a unique spirit and wild fun. The commedia flavor gives the story vigor and makes it entertaining for children as well as adults without losing the charm and fun of Charles Perrault's famous story.
“My favorite thing about Children’s Theatre is putting smiles on kids' faces,” said
Alex Harwell, a freshman from Granger, Texas. “I also love the people I get to perform
with.”
The cast includes Samantha Cook, Dalton Brandt, Em Gaylor, Addison Harrold, Alex Harwell,
and Drake Richtarik. The show is directed by Professor John I. Baker III.
“The thing I most enjoy is how much the kids love it,” shared Em Gaylor, a junior from Springfield, Mo. “They get to interact with the show and us cast members in a way that makes Children's Theater very unique.”
“Doing Children’s Theatre my freshman year of college was my first ever acting experience,
and that’s where my love for theatre began,” expressed Dalton Brandt, a senior from Aurora, Neb. “It’s truly been a blessing to spend these last five years on the York University
stage.”
This is the Traveling Children’s Theatre’s 27th year of sharing joy and good laughs
through performance! The group performs 20 times in a spring semester, visiting elementary
schools and other community venues in the surrounding area.
