The York University Celebration Singers are excited to present their annual Christmas production Cocoa and Carols, December 7-10. Performances are scheduled Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and a Sunday matinee at 2 pm.
This year’s show, “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” will feature a wide variety of
music and a special guest reading the classic story. Cocoa and Carols has proven year after year to be a campus and community favorite
and offers a little something for everyone. The show will feature talented students
performing a variety of solo and ensemble numbers, including beloved Christmas favorites.
Lester Miller, associate professor of music, is in his first year with York University as the director of Celebration Singers. Formerly the director of choral activities at Centennial High School in Ankeny, Iowa, Miller oversaw the growth of the largest and most successful choir programs in the country with over 420 participants in 10 curricular and co-curricular ensembles. Miller's choirs won numerous awards in regional and national competitions.
