The final month of the semester at York University is packed full of events. Mark your calendars for these fun performances and activities so you don’t miss out!
Songfest, April 3-5
Songfest is a high-energy musical revue, featuring performances from many student groups. Songfest will be performed at 7:30 p.m., April 3-5, in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door starting at 6 p.m. each night or anytime online.


Panther Days, April 4-5
Panther Days is a showcase weekend where prospective students and their parents have an opportunity to see what York University has to offer, such as athletic and performing arts events, as well as campus tours and classroom visits. This year, Panther Days will also feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the EDGE of Innovation Lab, a space that provides students with the ability to utilize professional resources for their course projects or personal endeavors.

Josh Cleveland Concert, April 5
Josh Cleveland, a YU alumnus of 2001, is performing at York University during Panther Days! Cleveland is a talented musician from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who has established himself in the rock and folk rock genres.
Join us at 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 5th, in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. This concert will benefit the Spiritual Life Center in McGehee Hall in memory of Mike Rush. General admission is $15. Admission for York University students is $5. Buy tickets online.


Children’s Theatre, April 5 & 18
The Commedia: Voyages of Sinbad, presented by the York University Traveling Children’s Theatre, will tour throughout March and April at area elementary schools, libraries, and other community venues. There will also be two free performances on campus: Saturday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m., and Friday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. No tickets or reservations are necessary to attend these shows in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. The show is for kids but is fun for audiences of all ages.
University Singers, April 5 & 21
You’ll have two opportunities to hear the York University Singers in April. The choir will perform their touring repertoire for the final time this year during Panther Days on April 5 at 1:00 p.m. Then, on April 21 at 7:30 p.m., they will present their annual Spring Works concert. Both concerts will take place in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. There is no admission cost and no tickets are required.


Dance Showcase, April 11-12
The York University Dance Program, directed by Bailey Davis, will present "Rewind" on April 11th and 12th. The performances will be held at the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center at 7 pm. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

Writer’s Workshop, April 13
Writers of all kinds are invited to attend the annual Writer’s Workshop, hosted by York University & Nebraska Humanities on Sunday, April 13. This year’s featured speaker will be former Nebraska State Poet Matt Mason and will take place in the Cornerstone Room of the Mackey Center.
The free event will include a reading from Mason at 2 p.m., followed by a reception and book signing at 3 p.m. The workshop component will run from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All are welcome to attend, though registration is required. Participants should be ready for a full range of experiences, including reading, writing, and sharing poetry. Register here.


Spring Commencement, April 26
Senator Jana Hughes will be the featured speaker at the spring commencement ceremony, on Saturday, April 26.
Commencement runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Campbell Student Activity Center and is open to the public. No tickets are required, but guests are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited.
