Recently, several YU students competed in state-level competitions at the Nebraska Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate State Leadership Conference. Hosted on March 24-25, in Kearney, Neb., the annual conference offers students from colleges and universities across the state an opportunity to network, attend leadership workshops and compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills.
Thirteen members of the York University FBLA chapter attended the state conference. All thirteen students placed high enough to be eligible to compete at the FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference, which is scheduled for June 24-27 in Orlando, Florida.
Giovanni Froldi, a graduate student from Campinas, Brazil, was honored with a Who’s Who in Nebraska FBLA Collegiate recognition. Froldi serves as a sponsor for the YU chapter of FBLA Collegiate.
“As an advisor, I couldn't be more proud of these students,” said Diego Korol, the FBLA advisor for the York University chapter. “They put in countless hours throughout the semester preparing for this two-day conference. Having all 13 participants qualifying for nationals is something to be proud of. I want to thank the professors at YU who are providing quality education to students throughout all our academic programs.”
The YU students participating in this conference were Landen Baum, Harumi Cornejo, Giovanni Froldi, Breno Grossi, Olivia Hansen, Valentina Jimenez, Parker Hughes, Juan Linares, Vinicius Maciel, Alexandre Motta, Vinicius Pie, Wagner Simoes and Matias Tretell.
